Abstract

Nanotechnology nowadays consists in a well-established field of research and development, contained in the interface of various fields of knowledge. The using of nanostructured materials is, more than ever, a growing demand for new devices designing, among which we can find sensors with higher selectivity, sensibility and roughness. The techniques of DNA manipulation are one of the most promising fields in terms of nanofabrication of complex nanostructures. This, added to the possibility of modifying the strains with thiols and functional groups, allows in a simple way to anchor various designs of structures, such as DNA tetrahedron over electrodes surfaces and, furtherly, modify those structures with nanoparticles or enzymes with many purposes, among which we can highlight the building of highly sensitive sensors. However, the electrochemistry of these systems is still not fully understood. (AU)
