Abstract

The ACT Raising Safe Kids Program aims to strengthen positive parenting practices as an essential strategy to prevent violence and maltreatment against children. Part of the learning of this parenting program occurs through homework, in which mothers are encouraged to remember the contents and strategies taught in the sessions and practice into their daily lives. This study aims to analyze maternal verbal content in the homework about their parenting practices related to the children´s challenging behaviors, in the context of ACT Program intervention. The study sample included 100 mothers of children between two and seven years of age. The first, third, and sixth homework tasks answered by the mothers were used to analyze their verbal contents. The answers will be transcribed, and the quantitative interpretative analysis of the thematic content will be performed through a categories system . Data obtained will be quantified in terms of frequency and percentage or prevalence. (AU)
