Abstract

Thermography has become increasingly prominent because it is a non-invasive, painless, inexpensive and safe technique, since it does not pose any health risks as it does not require the use of contrasts, sedation and radiation. have potential for in vivo diagnosis, providing information on ongoing physiological processes in real time. Tracheal repair surgeries are of great importance in veterinary medicine, but still present obstacles regarding the application of prostheses. The present work aims to analyze the efficiency of the use of the thermography technique in the evaluation of biocompatibility in tracheal tissue repair after placement of a 3D copolyamide implant associated with thermoplastic elastomer allied to autologous graft of omentum for tracheal repair of rabbits, as well as the identification of inflammatory processes after the surgical procedure. The animals will be distributed in 2 groups of 12 animals each, GI (implant group) and GIO (implant group and omentum graft). In GI, after performing the tracheal defect, the PCTPE implant will be fixed. In GIO, afterfixation the implant will be performed autologous graft of omentum. Each group of 12 animals will be subdivided (n = 4) according to the moment of euthanasia, scheduled at intervals of seven, fifteen and thirty days. The results will be analyzed from the clinical conditions of the animals, macroscopic evaluation of the surgery site and through the thermographic images.
