Abstract

Thermography allows the analysis of physiological functions related to body temperature, in addition to demonstrating a great result because it is a non-invasive, objective and low cost method that has an excellent use in the analysis of inflammatory processes during tissue repair. The present work aims to use thermography as a diagnostic method to identify possible inflammatory processes after the tracheal area repair, thus analyzing the biocompatibility of the materials used. In the present study, 64 rabbits will be divided into four groups and submitted to partial resection of five tracheal rings. The Control Group (GC), with removal of the tracheal defect and replacement of the cartilage removed, Flap Muscle Group (GFM) with removal of the tracheal defect and suturehyoid muscle flap over the defect site, PCTPE Group (GPCTPE), with removal of the tracheal defect and fixation of 3D prosthesis of PCTPE and TPE Group (GTPE) with removal of the tracheal defect and fixation of 3D prosthesis of TPE. In the postoperative period the animals will be evaluated daily observing changes that may be caused by the use of techniques, before the procedure of euthanasia the animals will be submitted to thermography of the surgical area to evaluate the inflammatory process. The images captured by the thermographic camera will be interpreted through the Flir-Tools Model Software.
