Abstract

Food intake has strong relevance to achieve good performance.as it is related to the support of physiological components involved in exercise such as energy metabolism, tissue repair, replenishment of stocks in the recovery phase, among others. Body composition also seems to be a predictor in mid and long-distance races, as the body fat, among other anthropometric variables, apparently have a positive correlation with race time. Thus, the purpose of this study will be to evaluate food intake and correlate with body composition and the performance of runner runners. Will be evaluated 20 sex volunteers who have been training for over 1 year with a training frequency minimum of three sessions per week and having a race time of 5km equal to or under 20 minutes. They will be used as methods for assessing the food intake the 24-hour foodBody composition evaluation will use the skinfold method. a5km test against the clock will be conducted on a running track. Will beA descriptive statistical analysis of the data (mean and standard deviation) was performed.after attesting normality, a Pearson and/or Spearman correlation between the study variables. The value of p lower than 0.05 will be adopted as significant.
