Abstract

Experimental models are important tools for understanding physiological and etiopathogenic phenomena. Different animal models are used to study the elements involved in the pathophysiology of post-transplant Primary Graft Dysfunction in order to evaluate new treatments. Currently, we can divide experimental models of lung donors into two major groups: postmortem brain donation and circulatory death donation. In addition, the deleterious effects of hemorrhagic shock can be considered. In this study, we aim to describe and compare the inflammatory process and histopathological disorders related to three lung donor models: donation after brain death; donation after circulatory death and hemorrhagic shock. Nine rats will be divided into three groups: Hemorrhagic Shock (n = 3); Brain death (n = 3); Circulatory death (n = 3). For each of these groups, the procedural contents and hemodynamic analyzes will be described; in addition to respiratory parameters, blood gas analysis, arterial, electrolytes, and lactate. (AU)
