Abstract

Assuming emotions as a social construct and of great impact on the social construction of markets, we will analyze the beliefs expressed in the narratives of the corporate universe about emotions through Exame Magazine in the time frame from 1990 to 2005. Taking inspiration from Pierre Bourdieu's Reflective Sociology. In Economic Sociology we intend, a priori, to objectify to what extent these narratives of Brazilian corporations, expressed in Exame Magazine, approach or move away from dominant designs of masculinity, to recognize in which contexts these narratives are incorporated or rejected by executive men. In the final phase of the research we intend to analyze these data raised in contrast to our previous research, Scientific Initiation, on the case of executive women in Exame Magazine. (AU)
