Abstract

Eucalyptus is the most important crop for the country´s forestry sector and its productivity potential is increasingly increasing, resulting from genetic improvement and crop management programs. However, this crop is also subject to weed interference whose damage mainly affects its productive potential. However, the repetitive use of herbicides with the same mechanism of action of resistant weeds, and Digitaria insularis stands out for its resistance to glyphosate. In view of its occurrence in eucalyptus, a culture in which glyphosate is used, it is necessary to study its interference. In this way, two studies will be conducted with the objective of evaluating the effect of evaluating the effect of densities ( 0, 1, 2 and 3 plants m-²) and the effect of distances (10, 20 and 30 cm) of a bitter grass biotype resistant to glyphosate in competition with seedling of the clone of Eucalyptus urograndis (I-144). The experimental design adopted will be in randomized blocks with five replications, following a 3x3+T factorial scheme for each experiment, totaling 50 plots. The first experiment will be carried out with the sowing of bitter grass and the second will use the regrowth of previously sown plants. In both experiments, stem height and diameter will be evaluated every 15 days, leaf area and dry mass of leaves, stem and total eucalyptus; for bitter grass the dry masses of the inflorescence and the vegetative part will be evaluated. The data obtained in the two experiments will be subjected to analysis of variance by the F test and the averages compared by the Tukey test at the level of 5% probability and, if justified, they will also be submitted to the regression analysis. Key words: Eucalyptus urograndis, Digitaria insularis, interference, competition. (AU)
