Abstract

The project proposal is to analyze the contributions of women's struggle in the defense of public education in Brazil in the 1970s and 1980s. The focus is daycare and preschool education, searching to verify how the scientific research- pioneers at the time- elaborated in Carlos Chagas Foundation (FCC) reflected on the elaboration of the agenda for children from 0 to 6 years present in the newspapers Nós Mulheres and Mulherio. The editorial project of the newspapers, as well the articles on them about daycare will be read together with FCC research reports and articles from Cadernos de Pesquisa Review that addresses the subject. From these sources, the objective is to build three analytical cores a) The condition of attendance of children in daycare and preschool at the time. b) The teacher's work faces the historical view of the woman's craft as a mother figure. c) Pedagogical proposals for daycare and preschools.
