Abstract

Gamification can be defined as the use of game elements outside its main scope. This concept has achieved positive and negative results in the education domain drawing attention to new in-depth studies focusing on providing better results in terms of students' experience. One of the deeper student' experiences that are highly linked to the learning experience was proposed through the Flow Theory and is called flow experience. In this sense, one of the main objectives of gamification research in the field of education is to design gamified educational systems capable of putting students in a flow experience. Thus, this project aims to propose a model to design a Flow Theory-based gamified educational systems and design a gamified educational system based on the proposed model. The results of this project can guide the design of more complete educational systems capable of providing a flow experience for its users. (AU)
