Abstract

Although argumentation is key in scientific processes, it still receives minor attention in school science and that students are given few opportunities to engage argumentation practices. The present project aims to develop and analyze didactic activities in chemistry at a higher education level (online Science Communication Course implemented in the Tidia platform) that promote the elaboration of argumentative texts, in which the author makes claim and provides evidence to support these claims. The didactic activities will be based on the investigative case studies related to environmental chemistry. From this perspective, answers will be sought for the following research question: How good are the written arguments developed by the students after doing the proposed didactic activities? The theoretical basis for the analysis hinges on studies concerning epistemic levels of argumentation. (AU)
