The impact of endovascular revascularization in pacients with Peripheral Arterial Disease at cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events

Abstract

Although the Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) presents a similar lethality to the Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), the PAD still is largely underdiagnosed, and, consequently, undertreated. This fact occurs due to the lack of studies that show the importance of the disease towards its mortality rate and influence over other cardiovascular diseases, such as the Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) and the Myocardial Infarction (MI). It will be done the mapping of patients with PAD who underwent index surgeries on lower limbs, with the goal of correlate and estimate the power of prediction with others cardiovascular events (MI, Angina), cerebrovascular (CVA, Transient ischemic attack), amputation and death. The study is observational longitudinal of prospectively obtained data analysis which will be retrospectively reviewed, such analyzed data will be necessary for tracking an epidemiological risk profile of the PAD. The data will be collected from 834 selected patients for the study through the patients' electronic health records. Statistical analysis will include univariate tests and multivariate models (logistic regression).
