Abstract

The circadian cycle has an important role at the energetic homeostasis regulation and one of its main forms of manifestation is through chronotype which reveals the moment of the day when the person prefers realising daily activities such as sleeping, waking up and eating. If the natural biological clocks are broken, the whole body may develop chronodisruption, a condition that negatively impacts the brown adipose tissue (BAT) function, damaging the thermogenic ability and the healthy, eutrophic or obesity of different phenotypes individual's energetic homeostasis. The research of the associations between BAT, chronotype and metabolic phenotypes has become day after day more relevant to improve the comprehension about the obesity's pathophysiology and open new ways to therapeutic approaches which search to prevent and treat obesity. For this reason, the purpose of the present study is to investigate the associations between chronotype, BAT activity at rest and metabolic health profiles and adiposity in adult women.The present study aims to adopt a group of 60 women at the childbearing age, divided equally between the phenotypes: metabolically healthy normal weight (MHNW), metabolically healthy obese (MHO) and metabolically un-healthy obese (MUO). The data collecting will happen at Laboratório de Investigação em Diabetes e Metabolismo (LIMED), located at Gastrocentro in Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and will be done the classification of the phenotypes, the triage of the patients, the patient anamnesis, BAT activation evaluation and the chronotype classification thought the application of the validated questionnaire for Brazil Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), during the triage, and some additional questions will have been done to get the sleeping pattern.
