Abstract

This master's research, in progress, investigates the changes that have occurred during the development of the course of indigenous students who entered Unicamp from the first indigenous entrance exam in 2019, capturing the evolutions that occur throughout the university trajectory. One of the points that has already been observed is the emergence of a movement of indigenous women students. The research dialogues with the areas of Anthropology, in particular with studies on the relationship between indigenous peoples and schooling, and Sociology of Education, in particular with studies on students from popular classes. The materials obtained so far, produced through ethnography, indicate that the experiences of indigenous students have much in common with those of university students from popular classes, which has not been indicated in the literature. The internship abroad will allow for the establishment of a partnership with a senior researcher in the area of sociology of education, with extensive experience in studies on schooling (basic and higher education) of popular classes. Her most recent studies also focus on the path of women in higher education. The purpose of the internship is to deepen theoretical knowledge, establish an international academic dialogue network and consolidate analyzes capable of highlighting common or different points between indigenous students and those from lower classes. The dialogue will also make it possible to strengthen the analysis of the specificity of indigenous women student movements, their agendas and the way they understand the role of the university in their trajectories.
