Abstract

This research aims to explore the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the current market landscape of Journalism, primarily analyzing the implications for business models, focusing on the challenges and opportunities related to the use of this high-intensity technology in the media. With the support of the Scoping Review methodology, this work will aim to produce a literature review on the topic of Journalism and AI business models, and to inventory authors and cases of AI development projects for journalism, using the libraries of the University of Beira Interior (UBI) as a search tool. In addition, participant observation will be conducted with the Research Group LabCom - Communication and Arts and the Mobile Communication and Artificial Intelligence Observatory, which will aid in the qualitative approach of the research. As a result of the study, we expect to understand the possibilities and impacts that surround the intersection between journalism business models and the emerging technology of AI in different countries, drawing a comparison between Brazil and Europe, mainly.
