Abstract

The advancement in 3D printing technologies for medical devices has opened up new possibilities for creating customized and functional biomaterials. This project aims to explore the use of photopolymerizable resins in the 3D printing of cardiovascular devices, leveraging advanced technology to enhance their mechanical and therapeutic properties. The project will utilize Rhinoceros 3D® software for precise and personalized modeling, with a special focus on manufacturing absorbable polyester intracoronary stents. Rhinoceros 3D® software will enable the creation of detailed three-dimensional models integrated with Grasshopper software, facilitating parametric modeling and design optimization of the devices. Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D printing technology will be employed, using photopolymerizable resins prepared through microwave-assisted methacrylation of polycaprolactone (PCL) with methacrylic anhydride. Furthermore, Altair® HyperWorks® software will be used for simulating and optimizing the designed models, conducting structural, thermal, and fluid analyses to increase the devices' effectiveness.
