Abstract

The platform implants osseointegrable is the neck which receives the seating of the prosthetic component. This part of the implant is critical, since it influences the mode of transmission of occlusal forces to the bone. The misfit between the prosthetic component and the platform of the implant can lead to treatment failure, mainly due to induction of stress concentration, filtration of bacteria and biofilm formation around the implant. Branemark implants idealized osseointegrable commercially pure titanium in the form of a cylindrical bolt and to allow their integration into the surgical site with the instrument used, the implant had the hexagonal in the cervical portion. Moreover, it was found that the hexagon and to facilitate the insertion of the implant was extremely important for the establishment of prosthetic components. However, this type of implant-prosthesis connection has some disadvantages such as limited height of the platform that ensures the final aesthetics of implant-supported, need to have great dimensional accuracy to ensure the engagement of the prosthetic component without excessive gaps among other. In an attempt to present a solution to the problems encountered with the platforms of the hexagonal several changes were made in the form of implants. Were created mounted implants and components of titanium alloys with a hardness equal to or smaller than the implant to reduce the deformation of the hexagon. In addition, implants have been developed for body only and with internal connection (Morse taper). Thus, the research objective is to achieve clinical and radiographic evaluation of two types of connections prosthetic (Morse taper and hexagonal) of implants installed in the anterior mandible for implant type protocol with immediate functional loading in order to verify degree of peri-implant bone loss, the degree of mobility of the implants and the probing depth of the implants installed. The sample consisted of 20 patients, where each patient of them received 2 implants connection with the hexagonal region of the mandible between the mentalis foramen in the right side, and 2 implants of the Morse taper in the left side. This patients will be available by radiography exams, resonance frequency and probing depth evaluation. (AU)
