Abstract

The architectural ensemble known as "Quarteirão Paulista" in Ribeirão Preto downtown has been built at the 20s coffee economic boom by the Cia. Cervejaria Paulista. This group of three eclectic buildings: the Hotel Central, the Theatro Pedro II e and the Palacete Meira Junior has changed through the years by several architectural interventions and has lost many of its original characteristics. This research aims to organize, and chronologically study, all the architectural interventions done and its relations with the historical, social, cultural and artistic context of Ribeirão Preto. This study will be done by original images and electronic models, specially made to allow a contextual interpretation and a yet inexistent historical documentation. (AU)
