Abstract

Pierre Reverdy (1889-1960) was one of the most important French poets of the first half of the 20th century. However, his poems have rarely been studied or translated in Portuguese. In this work, I seek to fill this gap by producing the first annotated translation of a complete book by the author, Ferraille (1937). This book was chosen because it is representative of Reverdy\'s poetics. Thus, in the first chapter of this research, I present considerations about the poet\'s life, work, and some of his poetic conceptions. In the second, I discuss and contextualize the poet\'s itinerary, relevance, and position on the artistic and literary scene of the 20th century. In the third chapter, the aim is to present the work Ferraille and review the critical fortune of the book, commenting on formal and thematic aspects of the poems in correlation with the criticism of Reverdy. In the fourth chapter, I set out the translation approaches that guide the translation project and then carry out an unprecedented study of the reception of the poet Pierre Reverdy researched and translated in Brazil. Finally, in the fifth chapter, I present my translations and comments, analyzing the poems and justifying my translation choices (AU)
