Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a degree in Biological Sciences, a Masters and a PhD in Ecology from the University of São Paulo (USP), and completed postdoctoral training at the Institute of Biosciences at USP and the University of Turku (Finland). Currently is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo.Conducts research in the fields of Ecology and Phytochemistry, with a focus on the identification and quantification of natural productsparticularly polyphenolsusing a metabolomics-based approach. Her work is structured around two main research lines: 1. Investigation of the role of polyphenols in plant defense responses to abiotic stress factors such as desiccation, ultraviolet radiation, and air pollutants; 2. Characterization of the chemical diversity of native flora, with an emphasis on bryophytes. Her research aims to elucidate the biochemical mechanisms underlying plant adaptation to environmentally stressful conditions, contributing to biodiversity conservation and advancing knowledge on specialized plant metabolites.
