Permanent professor at the São Paulo State University (UNESP), affiliated with the Department of Linguistics, Literature and Classical Letters and the Graduate Program in Literary Studies of the Faculty of Sciences and Letters, Araraquara campus. Qualifications: Bachelor's (1987), Master's (1992) and Doctorate (2000) in Literature, in the area of Literary Theory, from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP); Associate Professor in Portuguese Literature (2010) and Full Professor (2018) from UNESP. He completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Lisbon (2001-2002; 2003; 2004-2005; 2006-2007; 2007-2008), at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2010 and 2011), and at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto - ESAP (2013-2014). His experience in Portugal allowed him to create and expand an international network of researchers that has for years involved UNESP in joint projects with several Portuguese institutions, most recently highlighting, alongside the University of Lisbon (UL), the Universidade Aberta de Lisboa (UAb), the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP), and the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (ESTC) of the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. He has developed interdisciplinary research on literature and other arts, with a focus on theater and cinema. She has published the books UNDER THE SPELLS OF CIRCE: an essay on the poetic masks of Florbela Espanca (New York: All Muses, 2022); NELSON, THE ALCHEMIST FROM HELL: something more about Nelson Rodrigues in theater and cinema (New York: All Muses, 2022); GLAUBER ROCHA AND MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA: epic cinema in Portuguese (New York: All Muses, 2019), THE EPIC CINEMA OF MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA (New York: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2018), TRANSFIGURATIONS OF AXËL: readings of modern theater in Portugal (New York: UNESP Publishing House, 2013) and FLORBELA ESPANCA: an aesthetics of theatricality (New York: UNESP Publishing House, 2003). He organized the collections THE POOR IN MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA'S CINEMA: interdisciplinary studies of cinema, literature and society (São Paulo: Todas as Musas, 2017) and MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA: a presence (São Paulo: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2010). She co-organized WOMEN IN CINEMAS AND AUDIOVISUALS: Brazil-Portugal parallels (São Paulo: Todas as Musas, 2024), WOMEN ON STAGE: essays on literature, cinema and theater (São Paulo: Todas as Musas, 2023); THEATER, CINEMA AND LITERATURE: confluences (São Paulo: Cultura Acadêmica, 2014), THEATER IN THE 18TH CENTURY: presence of Antônio José da Silva, the Jew (São Paulo: Perspectiva/FAPESP, 2008); TRUTH, LOVE, REASON, MERIT: things of the world and of those who walk in it (Curitiba: Press of the Federal University of Paraná, 2005); PORTUGUESE INTELLECTUALS AND BRAZILIAN CULTURE: testimonies and studies (São Paulo: Editora da UNESP, 2002) and ON THE SHIPS OF INITIATION: Portuguese studies in literature and history (São Paulo: Editora da UNESP, 1998). From April 24, 2011, to April 23, 2013, she coordinated the Undergraduate Course in Literature at UNESP, in Araraquara. She is the founder and leader of the Research Group in Dramaturgy, Cinema, Literature and other Arts (GPDC-LoA), active for twenty-five years. From 2002 to 2011, she created and coordinated the UNESP Theater Studies Week. Since 2013 she has been a CNPq Productivity fellow and her most recent projects are "Brazilian Cinema Novo reads the theater of Nelson Rodrigues" (2019-2021) and "Literature, cinema and authorship of women in Brazil during the military dictatorship" (2022-2026).
