Matheus Morais Cruz

BA in History from the Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas at the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP) and M.A. in Archaeology from the Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia at the University of São Paulo (MAE-USP). During undergraduate studies, received a research scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) for the development of undergraduate research on the military iconography of coins from Roman Palestine, and for a research internship abroad (BEPE-IC) at Tel Aviv University with institutional support from the Coin Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Israel Museum-Jerusalem, and the Kadman Numismatic Pavilion (Eretz-Israel Museum-Tel Aviv). During the master's program, received a research scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) for the research project and for a research internship abroad (BEPE-ME) at the University of Cologne. He is a research member of the Laboratory for Roman Provincial Archaeology (LARP-MAE-USP; www.larp.mae.usp.br), the Ancient Numismatic Research Group (MAE-USP), and the Research Group (CNPq) Interactive Archaeology and Electronic Simulations (ARISE-MAE-USP/FURG; www.arise.mae.usp.br). He worked as an Archaeology Technician at A Lasca Consultoria e Assessoria em Arqueologia Ltda, focusing on Preventive Archaeology (Archaeological Heritage and Environmental Licensing) and Geoprocessing. Since 2021, he has been a partner at CAA International - Computer Applications Quantitative Methods in Archaeology.
