Agricultural Engineer, graduated from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) in 1998, with a Master's degree (2000) and Ph.D. (2003) in Agronomy from the same institution. He completed postdoctoral training at the University of Florida (20102011) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2018), in the United States. He worked as a researcher at Embrapa from 2002 to 2013, and as a professor at PUC-Campinas (20052013) and FGV-Agro (20082013). From 2006 to 2013, he served as a visiting professor and graduate advisor at ESALQ/USP. Since 2013, he has been a professor in the field of agrometeorology and crop modeling at the Department of Biosystems Engineering at ESALQ/USP, where he became an associate professor in 2014. He has been honored by graduating classes at PUC and ESALQ and has held a CNPq research productivity fellowship since 2010. He has published over 150 scientific articles, six books, and fifteen book chapters. He has participated in scientific missions in 23 countries, delivering lectures and conducting field research. Since 2005, he has led nationally coordinated research projects, with strong performance in research funding acquisition and group management. He coordinates the ESALQ Tempocampo System, which provides technical support to farmers and agribusinesses in the soybean, corn, and sugarcane sectors for crop forecasting and climate impact assessment. He was the coordinator of the China-Brazil Innovation Center at ESALQ and the Brazilian Yield Gap Atlas project (www.yieldgap.org). He currently serves as president of the Brazilian Society of Agrometeorology (terms 20212023 and 20232025) and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Agricultural Systems Engineering at ESALQ.
