ANNUAL APPLICATION PLAN OF THE TECHNICAL RESERVE FOR INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE (RTI ANNUAL APPLICATION PLAN - Fiscal Year 2024/Base Year 2023)

Abstract

The funds provided by FAPESP in the form of the Technical Reserve associated with research projects submitted and approved by the faculty members of the School of Food Engineering (FEA)/UNICAMP in 2023 amounted to R$274,372.18. The objective of the present 2024/2023 Annual RTI Application Plan is to present the proposal for the allocation of these funds as approved by the Congregation of the School of Food Engineering - UNICAMP, during its 144th Extraordinary Meeting held on November 29, 2024, and in accordance with the regulations established by FAPESP.The funds will be used to purchase items to benefit the FEA community, including a PAL3 SPME Module and accessories for the CTC Combipal autosampler of the Agilent GC 7820 gas chromatograph, a 10 L digital water bath, and two 18,000 BTU air conditioning units, in addition to other consumables and services aimed at maintaining equipment in the Central Support Laboratory (LAC).The LAC is a multi-user laboratory linked to the Research and Extension Coordination Offices of the FEA and aims to provide technical support for research activities conducted at FEA/UNICAMP, as well as to serve external users, including other UNICAMP units, public and private research institutions, companies, and government agencies.Furthermore, this application plan proposes the calibration of various balances and micropipettes used in department laboratories to ensure the reliability and accuracy of results obtained in research and experiments.FEA currently has five Graduate Programs and 50 faculty members, as well as collaborating researchers, serving approximately 500 graduate students in a total built area of 19,546 m², including 12,500 m² dedicated to research laboratories. In the latest CAPES evaluation, the Graduate Programs in Food Science and Food Engineering received a score of 7, while the Graduate Programs in Food Technology and Food and Nutrition received scores of 5 and 6, respectively. The Bioenergy Doctorate, part of CAPES' Multidisciplinary Area (offered by USP, UNESP, and UNICAMP), received a score of 4.It is worth highlighting that FEA has an Institutional Researcher Support Office (EAIP) and that UNICAMP has an Institutional Policy on Good Practices and Research Integrity as well as Open Access to Intellectual and Scientific Production.
