Specialization Program in Biofuels and Alternative Energies

Abstract

This project aims to provide additional training in the area of biofuels to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Chemical Engineering at UFSCar. This complementary training is supported by the various Research Groups of DEQ-UFSCar, which have developed work related to the production of biofuels (fermentative processes for ethanol production, alcohol chemistry, new processes for producing ethanol from sugarcane bagasse and production of biodiesel via the ethyl route in a heterogeneous process), recovery of natural gas(production of hydrogen and synthesis gas), recovery of CO2 (production of DME, methanol and alcohols with twoor more carbons by hydrogenation of CO and CO2).
