Abstract

Escherichia coli is one of the most important agents of intestinal and urinary tract infections Mutilocus sequence typing will be applied in 37 E. coli EPEC strains (Enteropathogenic E. coli) and in 7 uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) strains, previously isolated from patients of Unidade de Emergência do Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (HCFMRP-USP) and from the community of a city in Minas Gerais State, respectively. The results will provide epidemiological data that will permit to analyze the phylogenetic relationship among other E. coli included in MLST database. (AU)
