Application of different rates of vinasse by subsurface drip irrigation in sugar cane and its implications in soil and plant

Abstract

The water scarcity, environmental concern with hydrics resource, expansion of sugarcane area, and consequently, incresead production of ethanol, are of great relevance to the current agroindustry scenary. Therefore, occurs an increase in the generation of subproducts of ethanol, as such vinasse. The larger volume of vinasse and its application in areas of sugarcane have suggested new research in relation to movement of its chemicals components along the soil profile and the responses of plants to levels of vinasse. This research project aims study the application of vinasse by subsurface drip irrigation in sugarcane and its implications in soil and plant. The experiment will be installed in the experimental area of Rural Engineer Department - ESALQ/USP, situated in Piracicaba-SP. It will be adopted a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 4 replications, differentiated by levels of vinasse. In the start/end of each cycle will be collected samples of soil for its physics characterization. During the crop cycle will be made fortnightly the monitoring of quality of vinasse and its percolation in the soil profile in terms of electric conductivity (C.E.), pH e concentrations of K+, Ca2+, SO4-, Mg2+, NO3- e Cl-, by solution extractor. The plants evaluations will be plant height, number and diameter of stalk, internode distance and chlorophyll contents in the leaves. Foliar analyses in the start of each phonological period will be made. In the final of cycle it will be analyzed the yield and the technologic characteristics. (AU)
