Abstract

In one month visit, Prof. Paulo Ribeiro collaborates in scientific activities in the Grupo de Polímeros de São Carlos, in a study of interaction of DNA with cell membrane models, represented by Langmuir films of phospholipids. This area of interaction of biomolecules with membrane models is one of the specialties of the our research group, not only for understanding the action of drugs and other molecules of interest at the molecular level, but also to identify interactions of molecular recognition for the fabrication of biosensors. In the specific work of Prof. Paulo, we will study the interaction with DNA, something that started some time ago in collaboration with the Group of Prof. Paulo in the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Prof. Paul will go to visit the other two groups in the state of Sao Paulo, with whom he also has scientific collaboration. (AU)
