Abstract

Obesity is considered an epidemic disease, represented by the excessive accumulation of adipose tissue and is linked to various genetic and environmental causes. Studies indicate that the energy balance, determined by energy intake and energy expended, seems to depend on 40% of genetic inheritance. The aim of this study is to check the expression of genes ADBR3, UCPs, PLIN, PPARG2 related to obesity, energy expenditure and lipid metabolism in abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue and associated with anthropometric variables, the resting metabolic rate, dietary and biochemical in grade III obese patients before and after three different interventions for weight loss. Will be selected for the study 40 women with grade III obesity aged 18 to 60 years which will be randomized into four groups: Group 1 - Dietary Intervention, Group 2 - Supplementation with Green Tea, Group 3 - Bariatric Surgery and Group 4 - Control. Patients will undergo nutritional assessment, body composition analysis, resting metabolic rate, food intake analysis, socio-demographic questionnaire and collecting biological material collection (peripheral blood and / or subcutaneous adipose tissue) by specialized professional for genetic analysis and biochemistry. After 8 weeks for G1 and G2 and G3 six months for all procedures are performed again. Statistical analysis will be used descriptive statistics with the values presented as mean and standard deviation. Will be applied t test, chi-square or Fisher and admitted to the significance level P <0.05. All analyzes performed in software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS versão 17.0 [Inc. Chicago. IL]). (AU)
