Abstract

Scientific communication, both written and oral, is the cornerstone of success in chemistry higher education. In this project, we focus on the processes of retextualization on oral academic exposure (OAC). We aim to investigate how undergraduate chemistry students appropriate of the discourse of others in the production and retextualization of OAC, mediated by didactic sequences (DS). We also aim to investigate how the DS favor the teaching and learning of the genre OAC. The DS were designed based on the research of Schneuwly and Dolz (2004). The theoretical assumptions are based on the retextualization works by Marcuschi (2010) and by Dell'Isola (2007) and on the notion of reading horizons developed by Marcuschi (2008). The corpus of this research will consist of oral presentations produced by students enrolled in a scientific communication course at University of São Paulo. (AU)
