Abstract

This proposal is part of the project "Bilingual Pedagogical Lexicography: elaboration of a prototype for the Portuguese-Spanish dictionary for production" (FAPESP process 2013/26809). It is aimed at studying electronic dictionary structures in order to better develop the prototype. Lexicography, a science and a technique for the elaboration and study of dictionaries, has faced innumerous changes and (r)evolutions not only towards making dictionaries more suitable repositories for the words of a language, but also with the purposes of making them more suitable and useful to users. In the XX century, for example, the main characteristics of dictionary users became one of the main theoretical methodological principle for the making of dictionaries. Since then, there has been much innovation regarding the structure of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, including specific learner's and pedagogical dictionaries, among others. At the end of the XX century, with the new information and communication technologies (ICTs), Internet and Corpus Linguistics, Lexicography is, again, subjected to changes. Nowadays, it is essential to consider different ways to offer information to all different types of users. In this scenario, Lexicography is facing another theoretical, methodological and technological (r)evolution. In this way, it is our objective to make a critical analysis of current electronic monolingual Spanish dictionaries and bilingual Portuguese-Spanish dictionaries to create proper structures for presenting lexicographical information in the pedagogical bilingual Portuguese-Spanish dictionary focused on Spanish learners, native speakers of Portuguese.
