Abstract

This project's intention is to analyze the policies for the implementation of multiprogramming adopted by TV Cultura, a broadcasting station under responsibility of the Padre Anchieta Foundation. The analysis will be carried out from the implementation of digital television in Brazil, through the Brazilian Digital Television System-Terrestrial (SBTVD-T), involving the established policies for digital television, public television and educational television determined by the regulating institutions. This research will focus on the political processes related with the implementation of multiprogramming in the broadcasting station Univesp TV and Multiculture, running in a scientific and experimental character and under a special authorization. The final dissertation will be a descriptive and analytical case study about the distinguished moment of transition and experimentation taking place in the Brazilian television, analyzed from the viewpoint of the political economy of communication and using the method of qualitative research.
