Abstract

This research aims to identify how TV Brasil Internacional represents Brazilian culture, analyzing the programs "Estúdio Móvel" and "De lá pra cá" and guided by the article 221 of Federal Constitution of 1988, items I, II and III. The study will be performed by content analysis through semantic categories, which will be conducted by the mentioned constitutional principles. International public broadcasters, as part of the globalization context, transcend their national divisions to represent their homelands, building intercultural dialogues, creating new sociocultural processes and developing close relationships throughout the world. Thus, they establish social communication as a strategic tool of foreign policy. Considering this premise as a background, the research intends to analyze the Brazilian reference of this scenario: TV Brasil Internacional, created in 2010 and broadcast in about 70 countries. The investigation will also present the legal proceedings responsible for founding the channel as well as showing examples of European and North-American public broadcasting services and regulations, so that they can be used as comparative parameter.
