Abstract

Brazil has a large agricultural production and therefore is one of the countries that more produce agro industrial residues in the world. There is a growing interest in finding alternatives to the use of organic matter generated, which currently has been a source of environmental pollution. The wine industry has generated a large amount of waste that can be an example of low cost material and good profitability, besides contain bioactive substances of high commercial value. The aim of this project is to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activity of extract of grape marc (variety Petit Verdot), valuing these material as an alternative source that can be used in the development of new drugs. The grape marc will be dried and placed in contact with a mixture of ethanol and water (80:20). Then the material will be filtered, the solvent evaporated and lyophilized extract and stored at -18 ° C. The chemical evaluation will be performed by thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry. The evaluation of anti-inflammatory activity of the extract will be performed using the model of paw edema induced by carrageenan and carrageenan-induced peritonitis. The antinociceptive activity will be evaluated through the abdominal writhing test induced by acetic acid and the hot plate. It is hoped through this project to contribute with important results about chemical profile and the pharmacological activity of this variety of grape marc, besides to increase the value of these organic material considered a source of pollution of the environment.
