Abstract Two experiments were designed to evaluate Transfer of functions mediated by classe-specific reinforcement. Experiment 1 will test for Transfer of functions mediated by class-specific reinforment in an arbitrary MTS training. Then, class-specific reinforcement will be applied in MTS procedure to establish arbitraty relations between pictures of human faces expressing emotions (Class A) and abstract stimuli (Classes B and C). The same reinforcement procedure will be applied in identity MTS comprising only arbitrary stimuli (Class B, C and D). After testing for Stimulus class membership, the acquired functions of the abstract stimuli from class D will be acessed by the semantic differential. Then the relations between stimuli from class D and the class-specific reinforcement will be rearranged in a new identity MTS training. The effects of these manipulations will be acessed both by tests stimulus classe membership and new evaluations of the acquired functions of stimulus from class D. Experiment 2 will test for Transfer of functions mediated by class-specific reinforment in an identity MTS training. The subjects will be submitted to two types of identity MTS training. In one of them the identity relations between arbitrary stimuli from classes B and C will be trained appling class-specific reinforcement. The following identity MTS training will comprise only stimuli from class A (the pictures of human faces expressing emotions) and the class-specific reinforcement. Emergent arbitrary matching will be acessed and then the acquired functions of stimuli from classes B and C will be evaluated throuhg the semantic differential. The relations between stimuli from class A and the class-specific reinforcement will be rearranged in a new identity MTS training. Finally, the effects of these manipulations will be acessed both by tests for emergent arbitrary matching and new evaluations of the acquired functions of stimulus from classes B and C. | |
