Abstract

Developing one task of oral narrative it is required the involvement of executive functions and linguistics. Individuals with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity (ADHD) often show cognitive prejudices of the executive system, which in turn are shown as responsible for the difficulties of planning and organization of the narrative, at last on the capacity to the produce of coherent narratives. The objective of the present work is to investigate the coherence of oral narratives of twenty children with a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity, of both genres at the age of 5 to 10 years, and compare them to twenty children with typical language development without the ADHD according to gender, chronological age and education. The oral narrative will be elicited using the book Frog Where Are You? And the oral narrative will be transcribed for analysis purposes and the presence of structural indicators and narrative coherence degrees, according to the proposal of Spinillo and Martins (1997), taking as principal structural components information such as characters, events, and the endpoint of the story. The information will be analyzed by statistic analysis non-parametrical to the comparison between the individuals with ADHD and with typical language development.(AU)
