Abstract

Within the theme of the State's role in the Brazilian cinema, I take the case of an anti-project that proposed the transformation of ANCINE into ANCINAV. From this object of study I intend to identify the political forces behind the audiovisual sector. When we analyze the project course that proposed comprising the audiovisual as a whole and that, among other issues, determined that the new agency to regulate the television as well, we notice a political dispute that resulted in shelving the project. The intention here is to understand the course of this project, the reasons that led to its creation, its impact and upon an analysis of the discourses in this discussion, to raise hypotheses that explain why the government has decided to give up the project.
