Abstract

Spathodea campanulata (Bignoniaceae) is known for its ability to produce toxic substances the wide variety of insects, and previous studies with the nectar of this species show that some these compounds belong to chemical classes that may have antioxidant activity. Species with potential insecticide have been widely studied because they can be used as sustainable alternatives to combat and control of agricultural pests, thus reducing the use of agrochemicals that in the future can lead to various environmental problems and human health. For a better understanding of the functioning and identification of these compounds, it is necessary to apply insecticides and biochemical tests on plants with such potential. Thus, the objective of the study is to analyze the nectar of species Spathodea campanulata in relation to its antioxidant activity, potential insecticide and still determine the presence of phenols and flavonoids total and reducing sugars. Therefore, the nectar of S. campanulata will be collected and submitted for testing chemicals and insecticides. Then, the nectar will be subject to a determination of total protein biomonitorada again by testing chemicals and insecticides, for that is mainly measured potential insecticide. (AU)
