Abstract

This project aims to find and analyze books about organization of libraries in the nineteenth century available in Portuguese libraries. This research aims to contribute to a better comprehension of how public and private libraries were then formed. It will help to think about the constitution of Brazilian Imperial Family private library, which is been studied in the ongoing project "Os Romances da Imperatriz - Presença de Obras Ficcionais na Biblioteca da Imperatriz Teresa Cristina".
