Abstract

This is a multicenter pilot study accessing children and adolescents from 3 to 17 years of age. It will be developed in São Paulo and six other cities in South America: Teresina (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile), Montevideo (Uruguay), Lima (Peru) and Medellin (Colombia). The training for evaluators and the design will be standardized and the same methodology will be applied. Aims: (i) To develop valid and reliable measurement methods to obtain information from behaviors related to energy balance: food intake, food preferences and choices, physical activity, sedentary behavior and sleep; (ii) To measure the reliability of these methods (iii) Measure the validity of these methods. Several analyzes will be performed: descriptive (mean, standard deviation, percentages, and confidence interval of 95 %). The agreements between measurements were calculated by determining the kappa coefficients for categorical variables, intraclass correlation coefficients for quantitative variables, which will be complemented by the development of Bland-Altman. The correlation will be calculated by Spearman and Pearson correlation coefficients for nonparametric and parametric variables, respectively. (AU)
