Abstract

The present work of young research aims to study the acoustic fields in aqueous solutions of orange waste when high-intensity ultrasound is applied. Thus, the calorimetric method was applied to determine the energy intensity transmitted in the aqueous solutions at different levels of biomass concentration and the nominal power of ultrasound. Experimental analyses of the density and specific heat capacity as a function of the biomass concentration and temperature will be realized as complementary data for the calculus of the acoustic fields. The Matlab software will be used for the mathematical analysis. Results of this research will show the application of high-intensity ultrasound in the pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass, useful for the second-generation ethanol industry.
