Abstract

Objective: i) perform the translation to Portuguese and validation of the Three Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-51) and its reduced versions (TFEQ-18 and TFEQ-21) for a sample of Brazilian university students and Portuguese ii) determine the contribution of body dissatisfaction and sociodemographic variables and learning in the eating behavior of Brazilian and Portuguese college students. Methods: This was an observational transversal study. Participants were university students of Portuguese and Brazilian higher education institutions. To characterize the sample will be lifted demographic and academic information. The weight (kg) and height (m) self-referred will be used for computation the Body Mass Index (kg/m2). To assess eat behavior is used The Three Factor Eating Questionnaire - TFEQ. Dissatisfaction with body image will be assessed by the Scale Silhouettes. Face validity and content will be performed. The construct validity of the TFEQ be estimated using the factorial, convergent and discriminant validity. Confirmatory factor analysis will be performed using the matrix of polychoric correlations. The Transnational Stability of the models will be assessed by analysis multi-group. Convergent validity will be assessed by the average variance extracted (AVE) and composite reliability (CC). The discriminant validity is estimated by correlation analysis. Internal consistency will be calculated using the Cronbach's alpha (a). To estimate the contribution of body dissatisfaction and demographic and academic variables in a structural model eating behavior will be elaborated. (AU)
