Abstract The purpose of this study consists in building a measuring instrument, able to identify musical indicators in early students with music giftedness behavior. The conceptual structure to be used comprises the theoretical references postulated by Renzulli (1985), Vygotsky (1988), Haroutounian (2002) and Kirnarskaya (2004). In order to reach this, it is intended to divide the instrument in two parts, the first one focused on the identification of general music abilities, and the second one on specific music abilities. This instrument will be developed in the psychometric interface and it will consider the population standard and the score from the measuring process. The instrument will scan based on the screening technique and recommended by Benito (2003) and Melo and Almeida (2008). Moreover, it is expected that the instrument can be accessible both for music teacher and pedagogues and also enable to identify other abilities necessary for the development of musicality, in order to contribute to the pedagogical and didactic planning.
