Abstract

Chromatography countercurrent (CCC) is a very advantageous technique for recovery, purification and isolation of natural products due to the liquid nature of its stationary phase, which prevents the retention of the compounds in the matrix, its reproducibility, the possibility of scale-up, among others. In this work aims to develop methodologies for isolating of compounds from ethyl acetate and n-butanol phases of two species of Sapindaceae, Cardiospermum corindum L. and Serjana caracasana (Jacq.) Willd., taking into account the principles of greater yield of each compound associated with lower consumption of solvent systems and reduced time spent in the process. In previous work by our group obtained compounds of chemotaxonomic value in more nonpolar phases of plant species and still observe biological activities associated with the extracts and organic phases. Thus, since the polar organic phases are shown promise as the biological activity and earlier work of other groups studied species of the genus concerned reported the presence of secondary metabolites classes chemotaxonomic value and biological interest, are justified by the studies that address the isolation of compounds present in such organic phase by means of a CCC separation techniques widely used.
