Abstract

This project aims to study the accessibility in the urban environment as a result of mobility in cities. Currently urban mobility has been one of the biggest problems of the cities, as the public and private transport networks are in constant conflict, both by the increase of private cars in recent years as the lack of public policies to encourage the use of collective means of transport. The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Cities launched in 2012, the program called CAP II Mobility Medium Cities. With investments exceeding 7 billion reais, the program is to carry out infrastructure works of urban mobility in medium-sized cities considered, ie those with between 200 and 700 thousand inhabitants, and must consider public transportation. The issue of accessibility has become a chronic problem of the cities by the lack of implementation of existing planning instruments. Thus the cities and their public spaces have numerous barriers imposed for a particular class of citizens, who are individuals with disabilities or reduced mobility. This project aims to analyze and discuss urban mobility and accessibility of the three cities of the State of São Paulo that were included in the program and already have their projects approved by the aforementioned Ministry, which are: Ribeirao Preto, Sorocaba and São José dos Campos, whose cities They have dimensions and similar problems. Furthermore, it aims to verify on the spot whether such locations where they are being proposed interventions are able to receive all citizens without distinction. With the discussion and debate of accessibility currently positive is the need for more inclusive environments for all, that is, besides the improvement in urban mobility, the environment must ensure the guarantee of the right of movement without barriers and limitations. Therefore, the research aims as well to discuss their mobility and its proposed plan, the identification of accessibility issues in the converging areas of the proposals, which aims to choose study axes in each city and to identify the urban infrastructure of their surroundings in a radius of 500 meters. After drawn axes and identified the equipment, if the objective is to point accessibility routes from the axis through which public transportation to the identified urban facilities, qualifying them according to accessibility criteria of analysis coming from bibliographic research and case studies other cities. Thus, the project becomes very important, as it aims to identify and target solutions to one problem, which is the violation of the fundamental right to this class of citizens who have their right hampered by infrastructural problems, which hinder their well -being autonomous.
