Abstract

The More Electric Aircraft (MEA) concept, which aims to replace pneumatic and hydraulic actuators by electromechanical actuators, increases the electric power demand in the airplane. The increase to 540 V, instead of the currently used DC bus of 270 V will allow increasing the electric power delivering. However, for complying with power quality restriction, as determined by the standards, it's necessary to condition the DC loads. This project deals with the development of a Power Electronics Conditioner (PEC) to mitigate the unwanted effects found in the DC internal feeders, mainly the current unbalance between the positive and negative poles of the DC bus, in order to comply with the standards.
