Abstract

The aim of the study is to evaluate the structural and chemical properties of high plasticity tricalcium silicate cements on the market (HP MTA, Biodentine and MTA Flow) and propose the development of a new high flow cement composed of tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, bismuth oxide, zinc oxide and, in its liquid, distilled water and water-soluble polymer. The hydrated and non-hydrated cements will be analyzed. The characterization will be performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The proposed cement will be evaluated, compared to the other cements, in relation to its properties, in which analyzes of the chemical composition of the cements in SEM, EDS and XRD will be made. The phase analysis of the chemical elements of the hydrated and non-hydrated cements will be performed in X-ray diffractometer (XRD). For the analysis of the non-hydrated cements, the powders of the cements will be placed directly in the base of reading of the equipment and compacted. The diffractometer (Rigaku, Tokyo, Japan) will use Cu K ± radiation at 40 mA and 45 kV. The results will be submitted to the normal D'Agostino and Pearson test (p <0.05) for the selection of the appropriate statistical test. (AU)
