Abstract This proposal is for awarding post-doctoral fellowship on the continuous development toward to establish the sustainable production process and methodology for cost effective production of beta-glucan. Essentially, this project aims firstly to develop a robust technological module for beta-glucan production followed by bridging the gap between the laboratory progress and commercial market niche area. Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide found in natural sources such as oats, barley, mushrooms and yeast. The physicochemical properties of beta-glucan depend on the characteristics of their primary structural chemistry i.e. linkage type, degree of branching and molecular weight. Beta-glucan has shown multiple health functions such as to boost immune health and ameliorate functional ingredients in dietary foods | |
