Abstract

Electrochemical devices that allow rapid analysis, miniaturized with high sensitivity are one of the most featured aspects in recent years. Conductive inks aligned to inert substrates allow the creation of these miniaturized electrochemical devices. In this project, we intend to make disposable sensory and biosensor architectures, with low cost materials. For the manufacture of conductive inks, a solvent-aligned polymer base in which it may be water or organic solvents and a conductive material, which may be carbonaceous or even metal materials such as silver and copper, will be used. The different inks made can also have their surface modified, resulting in an increase in electrochemical area and a reduction in the detection limits of these disposable devices. The modifications not only allow for an improvement over the sensing of such devices, but also with the aid of covalent bonding agents, can be a means for making biosensors. Many diseases need a quick and efficient diagnosis. Hormonal dysfunctions call our attention, since they are related to several diseases, among them one of the biggest causes of women death, the Breast Cancer. Malaria is another disease that is intended to be investigated, as a rapid and in situ immunosensing can decrease the mortality rates of this disease. Thus, it is desired to develop disposable and miniaturized systems that will be tested for neurotransmitter sensing and biosensing of Malaria and estrone, diseases that directly affect human health.
