Abstract

Hydrological modelling and decision-making processes for flood risk reduction in urban areas are relatively complex as they deal with several decision variables, heterogeneous data sources and multiple criteria to reach a cost and benefit trade-off. The concept of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) can benefit such modelling because monitoring networks, intelligent processing and human interaction are inherent to a CPS framework. This project aims at designing a complete urban process network automatically. CPS concept should be used to represent the corresponding (complex) network and the multi-objective evolutionary algorithms to find a trade-off between quality and cost of implementing the solutions found.
